The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is Samsung’s clamshell-style foldable smartphone launched in 2026. Compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 7, it offers faster performance, a lighter design, and, more importantly, a nearly crease-free foldable display and a more useful cover screen.

The Galaxy Z Flip 8 features a clamshell-style form factor with a cover display on the outside and a large foldable OLED screen inside. It is slim, measuring around 13.1mm when folded and 6.1mm when unfolded. It weighs 180g, 8g lighter than the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Samsung has made slight changes to the design to make the phone easier to open and close.

The phone has an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance. It also features a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint reader and stereo speakers.
The device has a 4.1-inch OLED cover display and a 6.9-inch foldable OLED display. Both screens can reach up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness and support HDR10+. The cover display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Its foldable display is supported by Armor FlexHinge and Flex Titanium mechanisms for a substantially decreased crease visibility and a flatter (glass-like) feel.
The Galaxy Z Flip 8 features a 50MP primary rear camera (1/1.56-inch) with OIS and a 12MP ultrawide camera (1/2.55-inch). On the front, it uses a 10MP camera for selfies, video calls, and video recording. All cameras support up to 4K 60fps video recording with 10-bit HDR and Super HDR.

In most countries worldwide, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is powered by the Exynos 2600 processor, which debuted with the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ earlier this year. Built on a 2nm process, it features a 10-core CPU and the Xclipse 960 GPU, offering improved performance and efficiency compared to the Exynos 2500 used in the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

In China and North America, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor.
The device comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Other features include GNSS, 5G, LTE, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, and a USB Type-C port with up to 5Gbps transfer speeds.
It is powered by a 4,300mAh battery and supports 15W Qi2.2 (Qi2 Ready) wireless charging and up to 25W fast wired charging (Super Fast Charging).

The phone runs Android 17-based One UI 9.0 out of the box. Like other Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series devices, it will receive operating system and security updates for up to seven years.

Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Flip 8 during the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event on July 22, 2026. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 has a starting price of $1,199.99 in the US and €1,299 in Europe for the 12GB + 256GB version. The 12GB + 512GB version costs $1,399 in the US and €1,499 in Europe. The phone will be available for purchase starting August 5, 2026, in most major markets worldwide. It comes in four colors: Cream, Graphite, Mint, and Pink.
